It is been said over and over again that beans are a great source of protein. There are 12 key nutrients in beans : folate, manganese, magnesium, iron, selenium, zinc, fiber, protein, copper, potassium, carbohydrates, and calcium. Experts recommend people to eat more beans. Neliquick is making it easier to incorporate this superfood in your diet. We have done all the prep work. Our beans have no preservatives and nothing has been added to them to keep them shelf-stable. They are just pre-cooked and dried.
Neliquick beans are without any salt or spices. Therefore, you are free to add or not add anything to it. It tastes very warm and comforting.
What to eat with it ?
Di ri blan ak sos pwa (white rice and beans purée) is the perfect combination that gives the body the complete protein its needs.
You can also add meat and/or vegetables to the beans purée.
How to prepare it ?
Preparation time : 5 minutes
Cooking time : 20 minutes.
The preparation of Neliquick Beans is simple. Boil the recommended amount of water, add the content of the package and Voilà. For better and bolder flavor, add 1 cup of coconut milk.
Sos Pwa Rouj - Haitian Style Red Bean Puree
Cooking time: 20 minutes Serving size: 4
3 cups of water
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 Tbsp chopped green onion
1 Tbsp chopped garlic
4 oz Neliquick Red beans
¼ tsp salt (to taste)
4 Whole cloves
1) Add the vegetable oil to a medium size pan. Add green onion and garlic once the oil is hot. Cook them until translucent for around 2 to 3 minutes.
2) Add the black beans, salt and water. Bring the concoction to a boil, lower the heat. Add the cloves & simmer for around 10 minutes. Remove cloves before serving.
Serve with rice or polenta.
